Literature Text
The greatest tragedy in life,
is that as we age,
we learn to stop asking,
"Why?"
Instead,
we replace it with the phrase,
"Yes, sir."

I got the idea for this poem while thinking about a time at Red Lobster. While there, I was sitting near a family with a young girl, probably between 2 and 4. She kept asking, "Why?" every time her mother (or grandmother, it's hard to tell with how long people stay young these days) said pretty much anything. While this must've annoyed her caretakers, it made me think about how different the world would be if more people questioned their leaders' motives. It would certainly be a more chaotic world, but perhaps a more honest one as well. This makes me wonder what is more important; honesty, or order?
